Emmerdale actor Ned Porteous has sparked confusion following the news Mike Parr is leaving the soap as Ross Barton. Ross actor Mike confirmed his upcoming exit on Twitter, leaving ITV viewers devastated. But Ned, who plays Joe Tate, threw doubt into the news, when he claimed the exit was just a rumour. Lorraine host Lorraine Kelly clearly hadn’t seen Mike’s tweet, when she grilled Ned over the claims. Ned didn’t appear to know anything about his co-star’s exit, as he admitted he thought it wasn’t confirmed. He said of the news: “I think, I just heard it was a rumour. “I haven’t spoken to him about it personally. You’ll have to ask him.” But Mike had already taken to Twitter after the reports emerged, confirming he would be bowing out of the soap. He said to his 139,000 followers, addressing his exit: “Yes I’ll be leaving the soap soon.  “Have had the best few years at Emmerdale but it’s time to move on and explore other avenues.
