EastEnders spoilers: Carmel Kazemi to EXIT over Shakil’s de**h? Bonnie Langford speaks out

EASTENDERS viewers watched as Shakil Kazemi was pronounced as dead this evening after he was fatally stabbed in Monday night’s heartbreaking episode.

Shakil’s (played by Shaheen Jafargholi) mother Carmel (Bonnie Langford) was devastated when she heard that he had passed away in tonight’s EastEnders.

Viewers saw Carmel trying to run away from the hospital after receiving the heartbreaking news.

Eventually, she began to accept that Shakil had been killed and asked to see his body.

In tearful scenes, Carmel said goodbye to her son as she appeared to begin to grieve.

But it seems that she will continue to be in denial over Shakil’s death in upcoming scenes.

Next week, fans of the BBC soap will see Carmel try to take her own life as she struggles to deal with her loss.

She will also lash out at the residents of Albert Square as they try to rally around her and mourn Shakil.

Could Shakil’s death lead to Carmel taking a break from Walford?

Speaking about upcoming scenes, actress Bonnie teased Radio Times: “Carmel goes through a rollercoaster of emotions.

“She is in shock and completely lost.

“She loved Shakil so much, he was her baby and she feels this huge guilt because she was away at the time of the crime enjoying herself.”

The soap star went on to add: “She’s looking for someone to blame, and feels these young people don’t understand the consequences of acting out of anger, or status, pride or greed.

“She thinks that they have no respect for their own lives or anyone else’s.”

It comes after it was hinted that Keegan Baker (Zack Morris) will try to take revenge following his friend’s death.

EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley, who plays Keegan’s mum Karen Taylor, told Metro.co.uk: “I think Karen is going to be really worried about what Keegan might do and whether he is going to seek revenge.

“Shakil was his best friend – so will this make him paranoid and go out for revenge?

“Karen goes through all of the natural things a mother would feel – she’s just worried about her son.

“It’s a big thing to happen in a young boy’s life – how can you move on from something like that? You can’t possibly imagine.”

Meanwhile, first-look images have shown Keegan and Carmel identifying Shakil’s killer - will they be brought to justice?
