Coronation Street spoilers: Eva Price is devastated in first look at Aidan Connor’s funeral

Coronation Street has offered the first look at emotional scenes next month as tragic Aidan Connor is laid to rest. Viewers were heartbroken when Aidan, played by Shayne Ward, took his own life in a hard hitting male suicide storyline and his death continues to have repercussions on his loved ones left behind.

As Aidan’s funeral dawns, emotions run high for the Connor family, with Johnny still struggling to hold it together as he can’t get his head around why his beloved son took his own life.

Meanwhile, as well as battling to keep Underworld in the family, Carla is bottling up her own feelings of sadness and guilt around Aidan while Kate and Jenny are also finding it hard to hold things together.

Eva Price has lost the love of her life and is in two minds over whether she can continue to lie about baby Susie. Toyah and Peter continue to look after the tot, with Eva and Toyah hiding the truth that she is actually the child of Eva and Aidan.

But as the enormity of the loss and the grief hits as the community gathers to say its final goodbyes to Aidan, will Eva realise that she needs to be close to Susie in order to keep Aidan a part of her life?

The Coronation Street cast and crew were on location filming the sad scenes for the funeral and cast members including Catherine Tyldesley, Richard Hawley, Sally Ann Matthews, Alison King, Kym Marsh, Faye Brookes and Georgia Taylor were spotted among those paying their respects.

The scenes are bound to be difficult to watch as viewers are still being heavily moved by the aftermath of Aidan’s tragic final scenes.

A source told Metro.co.uk: ‘The scenes of Aidan’s death have been some of the most powerful and talked about in Coronation Street’s history and the funeral of Aidan will be hard for more than just the family.

‘Eva has a huge burden on her shoulders and some major decisions to make over the coming weeks – could the funeral be the catalyst for some major truths coming to light?’

Cath’s final scenes as Eva will play out over the summer but will the popular character be leaving alone or taking her daughter with her? The funeral scenes will air in June.
